Are you interested in learning more about natural and holistic health? At the Community Center, we specialize in educating people from all backgrounds and education levels about natural health and naturopathic practices. Our classes are taught by natural health professionals who are always eager to impart their knowledge onto others. We know that there are many others like us who have a passion for naturopathic study and leading a healthier lifestyle. So join us at the Naturopathic Community Centerfor one of our many weekend natural health classes.

Expand Your Knowledge

Saturday/Sunday Seminars have expanded to MORE with formatting on weekdays to provide a richer and more in-depth experience. These seminars are open to the public, natural health professionals, and massage therapists. These are great classes for professionals looking for CEUs for licensing requirements. The cost varies depending on the seminar.
Saturday/Sunday and More Seminars do require preregistration and payment. Call (989) 317-4787 to reserve your spot. Meals are on your own in most cases.
This year’s classes have been updated to included hands-on learning, a make it—take it using essential oils, permaculture and understanding the world around us as it pertains to our health, and making connections with your children.
Classes meet from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Naturopathic Community Center, 503 East Broadway Street, downtown Mount Pleasant. Lunch from 12 to 1 is on your own.

August 1st-2nd (Saturday and Sunday) – Understanding Blood Panel Chemistry Part 1

This intensive 2-day course brings you the confidence needed to translate the unique chemical story that lies before you on a blood panel test. Your instructor, Jackie Featherly, ND, has spent over 40 years studying natural health. Her incredible passion and willingness to translate the sometimes intimidating intricacies of biology and chemistry into usable practitioners tools is a blessing you want to partake in! This class has a Part 2 and you will want to take them both.

August 15th – CranioSacral in the Mouth

Learn how to work inside the mouth with extremely light pressure to relieve numerous health concerns. Dr. Amy Jo Howard will share her gentle wisdom by teaching one of greatest tools for releasing headaches, migraines, other aliments, and even pelvic problems by knowing how to release the jaw and palates of the mouth. This class will expand your bodywork toolbox and allow you to achieve more success with clients. A background in bodywork is required.

August 22nd – Thawing a Frozen Shoulder

Painful shoulders and/or frozen shoulders (or adhesive capsulitis) are becoming an epidemic in our world of technology. Our heads are forward! Our shoulders are hunched! And there are those unfortunate souls suffering from whiplash. Come and learn massage techniques that can help restore range of motion and release shoulder pain. This class can accommodate six massage therapists and six clients wanting to explore relief from shoulder pain without surgery.

October 3rd – Social Media Marketing for the Pre-Tech Generation

Did you grow up with land phone lines and remote control TVs? This course is designed to help you move into a new form of marketing using social media. Gain confidence and discover that keeping up with new business techniques does not mean losing traditional business principles. Social Media expert Mandy Owens will guide you, step by step, through the key concepts and buttons to push to make this journey become one of relief and joy.

October 17-18th – Blood Chemistry Panel Part 2

The journey continues with Jackie Featherly, ND as you complete the process of un- derstanding the unique story told by a blood panel. Bringing this awareness of unique balance and the hidden nutritional story behind it will give you an incredible edge in helping clients with tough cases.

November 14th – Learn How to Meditate Using Your Voice

Embrace this incredible opportunity to work on self-healing through the guidance of an experienced meditation and mantra yoga instructor. Margaret Ware is a well respected community member with an in-depth personal understanding of how to bring true peace and healing through the use of your voice. During this four-hour training session you will learn proper Sanskrit pronunciation with follow-through tools and participate in a healing circle that teaches you how to do your own 40 day mantra practice.
