Parasites, Are you Being Bugged?

Like it or not, most of us do have parasites.  Even living in the United States, we are exposed to parasites through international travel, foreign foods, contaminated water, pets, mosquitoes and flies, the overuse of antibiotics, and many more situations.

The function of parasites is to eat waste in the body.  They become a problem when we start becoming a “good host” by giving them too much waste to eat.  Then, our bodies become overwhelmed by the large amount of waste, the parasites eating the waste, and additional waste created by the parasites themselves.  Most parasites are microscopic in size, but even so, they wreak havoc on the body.  Here are some examples:  they create inflammation in the  tissues where they live, release hormone-like secretions that imbalance our own metabolism, perforate the intestinal lining, triggering allergies and an immune response, and lead to malabsorption of    nutrients.  Other parasites are larger in size, like worms and flukes.  These can affect us in the same way as the smaller ones, and they can also physically obstruct organs because of their size and numbers.  Sometimes, the body will encase them to try and protect you, and this occurrence is often labeled as a cyst or tumor and may damage tissue and create a lot of pain.

So, it is important to not be a good host by eating healthy, drinking lots of water, making sure that your bowels are moving properly, and doing some cleanses on a regular basis to help boost your immune system.

Symptoms of parasites in the body include fatigue, pain, inflammation, allergies, food allergies, sleep disturbances, grinding the teeth, anemia, nervousness, skin conditions, and bowel concerns like constipation, diarrhea, gas, bloating, and leaky gut syndrome.  Research has even linked the presence of parasites in the body to causing conditions such as diabetes, seizures, asthma, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, endometriosis, and other serious health concerns.

There are many natural ways to aid in parasite cleansing.  Remember, in this case, you don’t want to be a good host.  So, if you eat like you’re at a party on a regular basis (think junk food diet:  chips and dip, greasy pizza, fast food burgers and fries, and cake and ice cream), then it is pretty well guaranteed that parasites will be at your party.  In other words, eat healthy.  This especially means avoiding processed foods and processed and bleached flours and sugars.  Clean your produce off with water that has essential oils in it (like Lemon or Purification oil).  Drink your (clean) water.  I know you love your pets, but don’t allow them to sleep in the bed.  Also, most commercial personal hygiene products are full of chemicals that burden your immune system, and parasites find this most appealing, so look for healthier brands and homemade alternatives.

Herbally, Black Walnut, Herbal Pumpkin, Garlic, and Artemisia Combination have a long, successful history with ridding parasites from the body. ParaCleanse is a 10-day parasite cleansing program that consists of Herbal Pumpkin, Yeast/Fungal Detox, Artemisia Combination, and Paw Paw Cell-Reg.  Some essential oils that are anti-parasitic are: Clove, Oregano, Thyme, and an oil blend called Di-Gize. Apply 1-2 drops to the bottom of each foot once daily to affect the whole body, or apply 1-2 drops over the abdomen area to focus on the digestive system. The oils can be used in combination with the herbs for a more effective cleanse.
